History

3jane was founded in 1999 by Peter Luttrell and Adriano Carvalho.  Luttrell and Carvalho, excited by the growth of online media publishing, set out to develop the essential software products that would power the nuts and bolts of the emerging content industry online.  Word quickly spread and 3jane tools and consulting services were adopted by E*Trade, The Walt Disney Company, Electronic Arts and many other major media companies.

3jane expanded its class of products in 2002 and added infrastructure consulting.   By expanding services to include the architecture, deployment and management of the complex hardware required to run online media properties 3jane had taken the first step in creating a full service firm able to provide end-to-end online media services.  3jane quickly identified that in order to guarantee the highest level of client services it must manage the complete hosting enterprise and in 2003 3jane opened its first data center in Los Angeles.

2003 brought international expansion.  Mr. Carvalho returned to his native Brazil and opened 3jane do Brasil in the Ipanema district of Rio de Janeiro.  3jane do Brasil capitalized on the countries strict open source commitment and deep design history.  Starting with a handful of developers and designers 3jane do Brasil quickly became the companies production engine and allowed 3jane to provide more competitive pricing and faster response for prototyping and development.

Invigorated by the successful adoption of 3jane's software and practices in major enterprises 3jane began to expand its focus to the nascent independent publishing business.  A new class of media company was being born online and 3jane found itself at the intersection of technology and media once again.  By building online community websites which would later become some of the first social networks 3jane found itself called upon to create new models to monetize these properties.

In 2004 3jane introduced IndieClick.  IndieClick, a publisher access network, was created to provide an honest, contextually relevant and reliable relationship between online media publisher and the advertisers who want to communicate with their audiences.  IndieClick was met with great enthusiasm and by the end of 2004 was in use by dozens of publishers and hundreds of advertisers.  In response to the success of IndieClick 3jane recruited Heather Luttrell to become IndieClick's president and run its day to day operations.

By 2006 3jane was providing a full suite of services to over 1000 clients.  The IndieClick network had grown to more than 80 publishers, 3jane opened a new datacenter in Los Angeles and doubled the size of its corporate headquarters and development studio.  3jane introduced a social networking software platform and expanded its infrastructure services to meet increased demand from customers.

2008 saw rapid expansion of infrastructure services.  3jane launched its hosting services under a new brand, 3liant, and expanded its product offerings to include an expansive content distribution network and cloud/cluster computing environment.  IndieClick network grows to a US audience of 50 million 13 to 35 year olds and spans over 200 publishers.  3jane launches new IPTV, advertising and website products.

In 2009 3jane continues to expand its product offerings always keeping mindful of its original mission, to provide the essential services required of online publishers.  Today the 3jane solutions provide complete end-to-end publisher management including design, development, infrastructure, content distribution, audience growth and advertising representation.
